This notice explains how L Stars Driving School handles personal information when you visit the website, contact us or request driving lessons.

1. Who we are

L Stars Driving School is the controller of the personal information described in this notice.

You can contact L Stars by telephone or WhatsApp on 07500 637171, or through the lesson-request form on this website.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us and whether you become a learner, we may collect:

  • your name and mobile number;
  • your postcode or collection area;
  • your driving experience and preferred lesson type;
  • your preferred days and times for lessons;
  • information you choose to include in an enquiry or message;
  • booking, payment and lesson-administration information;
  • driving-licence information where it is necessary to provide tuition or confirm eligibility to drive; and
  • records of communications relating to your lessons or enquiry.

3. How we collect your information

We mainly receive personal information directly from you when you use the website lesson-request form, contact L Stars by WhatsApp, telephone or text, or provide information in connection with your driving lessons.

The current website lesson-request form does not submit your details to a website database. It prepares a WhatsApp message using the information you enter. Your information is sent to L Stars only when you choose to send that message through WhatsApp.

4. Why we use your information and our lawful basis

5. Learners under 18

L Stars may provide driving tuition to learners who are under 18. We aim to use clear language and only collect information that is relevant to handling an enquiry and providing driving tuition. Where a parent or guardian is involved in booking, payment or communication, we may also hold their contact details.

6. Who we may share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

We may use trusted service providers where necessary to run the business, including communications services such as WhatsApp, website hosting providers, banking or payment services, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

7. International processing

Some third-party technology or communications providers may process information outside the UK. Where this applies, we will use providers that make appropriate safeguards available for international transfers under applicable UK data-protection law.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected.

  • Enquiry information is kept only while it is needed to respond, follow up and manage the enquiry.
  • If you become a learner, relevant booking, payment, communication and lesson-administration records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the service and meet accounting, legal or regulatory obligations.
  • Information based on consent, such as agreed promotional material, is kept until the consent is withdrawn or the material is no longer required.

We periodically review the information we hold and delete or securely dispose of information that is no longer needed.

9. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to certain processing.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.

Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object to that processing. We will consider your objection in accordance with data-protection law.

If you have a concern about how L Stars uses your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

The current L Stars website does not intentionally use advertising or analytics cookies. If analytics, advertising technology or other non-essential cookies are introduced later, this notice and any required cookie controls will be updated before they are used.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No internet or messaging service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so please avoid sending information that is not necessary for your enquiry or lessons.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the way we collect or use personal information changes. The latest version will be published on this website with an updated date.
